Wandering

 

Wandering is a small town some 135kms S/E of Perth just on the edge of the Wheatbelt area, During the winter months the lowest ground temperatures in the whole State are often recorded here . The Memorial gates are situated alongside the Agricultural Hall in the main street,Watts St. The plaque on the L/H pillar concerns WW2 and bears the names of fiftyone men with three killed in action and the names of nine women. The R/H pillar bears a plaque concerning WW1 and,a later addition, the Vietnam war. Fortysix men are shown to have served with ten died on service;three names are shown for Vietnam with one died on service. Recently the area behind the pillars has been landscaped and is now a small park.
