Situated on the main East/West Highway,Meckering is part of the Cunderdin administrative area,the original town was almost totally destroyed by earthquake in 1968.The memorial,located in a park opposite the shopping centre, is inscribed "The Great War 1914 - 1918,In Memory of the Fallen" 15 names shown and below them under the heading "1939 - 45"are a further three names
