This town was gazetted in 1911 in the same year the railway arrived as the area under cultivation expanded. During WW2 a camp for Italian P.O.Ws was established to supply labour for the surrounding farms.Today, there is little left of this town, which lies between Nungarin and Trayning in the Wheatbelt, apart from the Hotel and the grain bins which can be seen in the background. The stone bears two brass plaques, one in memory of those who fell in WW1 and the other WW2,individual names are not shown.
