Margaret River

On the Bussell Highway 277km South of Perth, Margaret River is the administrative centre for an area originally devoted to the beef,sheep,fishing and tourism industries however, since the1970s, many vineyards have been planted and the wine industry has become more and more important with wines from the region achieving international recognition. Built of granite,the War Memorial is located in a well kept park on the corner of Willmott Avenue and Town View Terrace; small flower beds on either side Of the Memorial contain a number of bronze plaques placed there by relatives in memory of fallen servicemen, two examples are shown.
