Donnybrook

This town,established 1842 Pop. 2300, lies 210km. South of Perth on the South West Highway; main industries are orchards and dairy farming. The Memorial is located in a small park on the Highway within the town site, in the right hand corner is mounted a WW1 Howitzer. The front of the Memorial bears a marble plaque headed " To the honour of our fallen 1914 to 1918 and 1939 to 1945 wars, in grateful remembrance" for WW1 fiftyseven names are shown and WW2 twentytwo. In Bentley Street stands the Soldiers Memorial Hall an imposing structure of Donnybrook sandstone the building of which commenced in September, 1919.
