229kms. South of Perth,Busselton is one of the most popular coastal holiday resorts in Western Australia,with a population of nearly 9000 it is the third largest town in the South West. The Memorial is situated in a park at the intersection of Albert and Queen Sts.,a small plaque on the base records that The Memorial was unveiled by Sir William Birdwood on 6th.January,1920. Three sides of the die stone bear polished granite plaques headed "Honor the Brave" and show 146 names,the fourth side has a plaque headed "The Heroic Dead" below are inscribed 36 names and below this is a cast bronze plaque headed "1939 - !945" on which 33 names are shown,to the right,affixed to the sandstone base,is a small plate headed "Vietnam 1962 - 1973" followed by "S.J.Barnett 4 RAR".
