Balingup
Established in 1860,the town is 240kms.South of perth on the South West Highway,with a population of 300. Main industries are plantation timber, mixed farming,fruit and vegetable cutivation and,more recently, vineyards, a number of artist/craftsmen live in the vicinity. The Memorial,made of brick and featuring a clock, is in the centre of town alongside the Highway and,on the front, bears a plaque "To Those Who Served", on the right side is a plaque headed "Died on Service 1914 to 1918" 34 names are shown, the left side has a plaque headed "Died on Service 1939 to 1945" with 14 names recorded.
