Karratha

1535kms. North of Perth, Karratha was established to service the emerging iron ore industry, with a population of 11,000 plus, the town continues to grow with the establishment of a salt industry and the North West Shelf Gas Project. The Memorial of polished granite stands in the grounds of the Local Govt.Offices and was unveiled on Anzac Day, 1986. It bears no other inscription than the plaque shown above.
