The City of Wanneroo is 25kms. North of perth and covers an area of 780sq.kms. including 48 kms.of coastline, the townsite was gazetted in 1906. Sited in the grounds of the Community Centre, the Memorial of Granite bears the names of Wanneroo men killed in WW1 & WW2. One of those named in the WW2 list, Albert B.Facey, was the eldest son of A.B.Facey, Author of ' A Fortunate Life'.
