Midland

 

Midland is 19km.East of Perth and stands at the junction of Gt.Northern and Eastern Highways. The Memorial is,in fact,the clock on the Town Hall which,above the dial,bears the AIF crest on all four sides whilst below just above the cupola is the legend "Soldiers Memorial" Affixed to the wall Under the portico of the main entrance are three Marble plaques,two record the names of those who fell in WW1,a total of seventyfour Names whilst the third reads "This Memorial Clock and these tablets erected by the citizens of Midland Junction in Honour of those who fell in the Great War 1914 - 1918" below are shown the names of the committee members and the unveiling date:- November 18th.,1923
