Claremont Teachers College

The College is situated in Bay Road,Claremont and was for many years the principle source of teachers for the State education system,it is now part of Edith Cowan University.The Memorial was erected by the College to commemerate staff and students who gave their lives in the 1914-1918 War.In 1997 the cross atop the Memorial fell off and had to be replaced,subsequently,in 1998,a committee of Teachers who served in the 1939-45 War organised restoration work including the affixing of a plaque honouring those who fell in the 1939-45 War. After restoration the Memorial was rededicated in a ceremony attended by W.A.Governor Michael Jeffery
