Banjup is a geographical location within the Shire of Cockburn located between the coast and Armadale,a rural area of small holdings. The Memorial Park comprising an avenue of trees and a memorial plaque was established in 1920,when the trees were planted, and is in a corner of the Rose Shanks Reserve at the intersection of Forest and Warton Rd. This Memorial has the dubious honour of recording the highest ' Killed in Action ' and ' Wounded ' ,on a percentage basis, than any other War Memorial in Western Australia.
