The town of Wongan Hills has a population of approx.880 and is 180km. N/East of Perth, established in 1911 it is the administrative centre for the Wongan - Ballidu Shire. The Memorial,a three sided cement rendered obelisk, is located in front of the Civic Centre in Anzac Place. Sited nearby is a 25 pdr. Howitzer manufactured by Vickers Armstrong Ltd. of Scottswood in 1940. The plaque naming those who fell in WW1& WW2 has two plaques above it,one commemorates Korea and the other Vietnam. All three sides of the base bear the dates 1914 / 1918 within a wreath.
