NORTHAMPTON

Northampton is one of the oldest towns in Western Australia being established in the mid 1840s when lead deposits were discovered and mining started; 475 kms. North of Perth with a population of 790 it is the most Northerly wheat growing district in the State. The Memorial is located in the front of the RSL Hall on the corner of Hampton Road and Essex Street and records the names of those who died in WW1 ( 47 ) and WW2 ( 14 ) it was unveiled by Colonel H.B.Collett on May 27th.1934,the land was donated by Mrs.Marion Brand of Lynton Station.
