Geraldton is 424kms. North of perth, situated on the coast at Champion Bay and with a population of 24,400 is the largest town in the North. Apart from an extensive agricultural area surrounding it the town has a large fishing industry,mainly lobsters. The Memorial is sited in front of the RSL Hall on the corner of Chapman Road and Forrest Street,individual names are not shown. On the 19th.November,2001 a Memorial to HMAS Sydney was unveiled on Mount Scott,the dome of this Memorial can be seen to the right of the Monument in the main photo above.
