Carnamah,located 308km.North of Perth is the administrative centre for a large agricultural area and has a population of 370. Many of the farms were established under Soldier resettlement schemes after WW1 & WW2. The Memorial is sited in the forecourt of the Railway Station (no longer used as such),constructed of granite it stands 3.5 metres high and was paid for by public subscription from the residents of the Carnamah and Coorow districts,the names shown cover residents of both areas.
